Sage has been a widow for a year now. She runs the bed and breakfast that she and her husband Eric started with the help of her four year old daughter and Eric’s best friend Lowell. Sometimes she gets the feeling that Eric is still watching over them.
Hawke is a successful writer. Once a nerd, he has transformed himself into someone he always wanted to be. He has a great life and now all he needs is someone to share it with.
Thistle Dew is the name of the wonderful bed and breakfast run by Sage and her little girl, Pia. Sage’s husband was killed in a freak accident a year ago and she is not ready to move on yet, or so she thinks. She is very attracted to one of the guests of the writer’s weekend and Hawke seems to feel the same. Her husband’s best friend Lowell has been a great help, but seems to assume a relationship that does not exist. Guilty feelings and a family crisis may end the relationship between Hawke and Sage before it has begun.
This is a very sweet romance with a paranormal twist. Eric is determined to see his family happy and I loved the little ways he made himself known, particularly when he tormented the totally unlikable Lowell. Sage and Hawke are well suited to each other, but circumstances seem to conspire against them. Little Pia steals almost every scene she is in, she is sweet and precocious. I also loved the Norman character and the alpacas. The combination of an interesting and involving plot and great characters make this story a winner.
