Penelope Hart, or Pen, is a professional wedding planner. Her latest event is for her friend and her famous football playing fiancé. If the wedding goes off as planned, it has the potential to give her the financial security that Pen has always sought. But when someone threatens to sabotage the blessed union, Pen will do anything to save the day, even if it means faking a relationship with the sumptuous ex military security.
Seth thought his life would entail standing by his brothers in arms and fighting for our country. In a game of poker against his dying mother, he finds himself dealt another hand entirely. Returning stateside for good, he gets a job working security for the super elite Ranger-based company. His first job? Pretend to be the boyfriend to a control freak wedding planner.
The moment they meet, sparks fly. As they tiptoe around, each protecting their secrets, they find themselves spiraling into a maelstrom of passion. Will they be too distracted to uncover the saboteur? Or will they solve the case but miss out on resolving the issues that keep them apart?
It is hard to resist a military man, especially one devoted to his family and a body that puts Grecian statues to shame. Pen is a strong heroine, not simpering, and her feminine allure is a wonderful contrast to Seth’s virile masculinity. Their love story is well developed, blending passion and tenderness. A fun, if predictable, read.
