THE VAMPIRE’S KISS
The Year of Stars, Book 3
Paranormal, Gay, Alternative, M/M, Fantasy, Erotic
Rating: 3 Cups
Hiroki has spent his life being controlled by a demon, but the demon is gone. He has strong feelings for the vampire who guides, protects, and helps, but the pleasure is dimmed by the captivity of his brother.
Loxis is a vampire who has lost a lot, including the only mate he would ever have. Hiroki's arrival in his life gives him love again, even if the individual is not a mate.
Hiroki and Loxis have a lot to learn about each other and themselves. The trip to self-awareness and enlightenment is a tough one, but if they are to remain together and save Hiroki’s brother, they must open their hearts and minds to each other.
The story was interesting if not rather abrupt. The reader is dropped into the middle of a scene, which leaves them feeling as if they had missed something. The reader must rush to get up to speed on the story and understand the characters' motivations and histories. Marie Medina is a solid writer who needs to work on the introduction/transition from one book to another.
