Olivia Sotiris is a psychologist working with the FBI to condemn some of the most vicious criminals. Using her special talents, she determines who is telling the truth and who is lying.
Robby MacKay seeks revenge against those who have held him captive and all the while they were torturing him, beating him down, and making him feel helpless. Forced to take a vacation, he is now secluded on a Greek Island with only his violent thoughts to keep him company.
Olivia is visiting her grandmother on the Island of Patmos when she first sees Robby. She is drawn to the charismatic man and soon they are entangled in a romance full of passion and intrigue. When Olivia suspects that Robby is not all who he claims to be she runs, afraid he has betrayed her in the most horrible way. Finding out the truth may not be any better, considering that Robby is a two centuries-old vampire.
While The Vampire and the Virgin is part of the Love At Stake series, it can be read as a standalone and is quite enjoyable. Olivia is such a tortured soul, with her ability having a madman target her as his newest obsession. Robby has undergone a horrible experience, one that leaves him scarred and the reader cannot help but fall for this honorable vampire. This is a definite novel to read time and again, one that will leave you craving more from this amazing author. I love how Kerrelyn Sparks brings paranormal romance to a whole new level!
