THE SHEIKH AND THE SERVANT
Rating: 5 Cups
Noori was not always a pleasure slave. He lived with his father on the land across the northern sea until debts forced Noori to be sold.
Sheikh Shahin does not believe in slavery. When he purchases a new servant, it is with the understanding that they will work for their freedom.
Noori was taken from Qutaibah’s harem and brought to Shahin’s camp. While there, it is discovered that he has a head for business and begins a new life not as a pleasure slave but as Shahin’s servant. Neither expected to fall in love with each other, but with their souls aching to be together that is what happens. When Qutaibah kidnaps both Noori and Shahin’s son with the intention to harm, Shahin realizes it may be too late to tell his servant exactly how he feels.
This beautifully written, heartbreaking and yet sweet tale scribed by Ms. Spencer has got to be the most romantic story I have read this year. The way Noori felt that he was less than a person made my heart ache for his suffering and feelings of worthlessness. Shahin is a strong yet gentle man who treats all of his servants as equals. I have fallen in love with Noori, Shahin, and the writings of this talented author!
