THE RAVAGED FAIRY
A Fairy Novel, Book 2
Rating: 3 Cups
Thame is a warrior in the fairy kingdom. His job is to protect the king and queen against the trolls and other enemies trying to harm them. After escaping capture and enduring the torture of having his wings cut off, he wanders in pain looking for help.
Breena cannot believe she found a handsome man in the middle of her road. His back is torn open, and he needs to heal. She takes him home so she and her grandmother can help him. She is instantly attracted to him, and her feelings continue to grow as she cares for him.
Thame has spent so much of his life alone that he is conflicted by his strong attraction to Breena. As the days pass, he knows she is the woman for him, but he still must make his way home and protect the king and queen. Breena is surprised when she learns those Irish legends from her childhood are true. Fairies and trolls are real, Thame is a fairy, and she is not completely human. Breena loves Thame, and when he takes her to the fairy kingdom, she knows she has found her new home.
I love fairies, and this was a fun read for me. The description of the fairy kingdom was very believable, and I wished I had wings so I could fly to the secret land and sit upon a giant sunflower. Thame and Breena share many romantic and steamy moments, so I was slightly disappointed by their first time together. With all the tenderness they share, I expected their first and second times to be reversed. There were lots of fairies introduced in this story and, in some cases, I found it a bit confusing. I was not sure if their stories were already told, or going to be told later, and I was left wondering if I missed something. That did not stop me from being interested in them though, and I look forward to more of this series.
