THE MORNING AFTER
Rating: 4 Cups
Cara Byrne has worked hard to create a stable life and make her parents proud. She made one mistake as a teen and never wants to see disappointment on their faces again. She has a good job teaching at the Boys Secondary School and a marriage proposal from a decent man--if only she could say yes to it!
Ethan Quinn is a Hollywood actor and Cara’s best friend. He gave his heart away once before and knows how much it hurts, so he never lets anyone besides Cara get close.
When Ethan comes to town for a fundraiser, one picture of the two of them together turns Cara’s life upside down. She loses her job and her privacy when the press follow and badger her after Ethan goes back home to America. In order to protect her, Ethan insists Cara stay with him for a few weeks. Their relationship changes into much more when they admit their new mutual attraction.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Morning After. This book has everything you want in a story: a great plot, interesting settings and characters you want to hope for and believe in. Add that these things are all written in a fun, lighthearted way and it was easy to get lost in this story. Though I knew it was a happy ending, I could not wait to see how these two friends worked it all out in the end. I was very pleased, and I think you will be too. I am looking forward to adding more of Ms. Clements’ books to my collection.
