Siobhan is the daughter of a Norman Knight and the granddaughter of an Irish Chieftain. She is a beautiful and fiery redhead with a quick temper. She is also a gifted sculptor of marble.
Brendan is a distant cousin of Siobhan’s grandfather and a merchant. His even temper, quick wit and sense of humor make him very popular with everyone but Siobhan. He does enjoy riling her at every opportunity.
Brendan Collins is invited to represent his family at the clan chieftain’s birthday celebration. The successful merchant is immediately intrigued by the man’s granddaughter Siobhan and even more so when he sees her sculptures in marble. He is determined to sell some pieces of her work, but she is reluctant. Brendan is also determined to win the heart of this stubborn and somewhat spoiled woman.
I really enjoyed this story. It is a wonderful look into medieval Ireland and a very enjoyable love story too. Siobhan is very difficult to like at first, she is such a spoiled brat. Brendan is determined to win her and with some difficulty does so. The author has created memorable and vividly real characters and the plot is more complex than a simple love story and full of historical details.
