Karlyn was working hard to get the starving out of her starving artist job title. Focused on her work, she is appalled when the non-transferrable lottery ticket her best friend transferred to her— as a birthday present— results in a living breathing hunk being delivered to ‘service’ her needs for a year. To top it off, when the ‘gift’ arrives, he is brittle and hostile at every opportunity, making this one lottery that she feels unlucky to have won.
In a world where women outnumber the men astronomically, Ethan may have been born to a life of privilege, but he has been a man in one that only values him for his body. Mistreated and emotionally abused, his former mistress blacklists him, causing him to enter the lottery to fund the surgery that is his sister’s last chance at life. What mind game is this new woman playing and why is it he craves her touch like he has never desired another woman previously?
Thrown together by fate and drawn together by chemistry, these two bull-headed characters are up against outside forces that would love to see them torn apart. Will they get past all their own issues as well as those created by the world they live in and find love? Or will they win nothing but heartbreak from the capricious turn their lives have taken?
A complicated plot that was built in a world similar enough to our own to be believable but with dynamics and complexities unique enough to have the reader enchanted with the fantasy. This erotic and multilayered story will have you laughing, tearing up and fascinated all in one plot. Great story, and I will be looking for more of this author.
