Dr. Ellie Sullivan is one of the best trauma surgeons at the hospital where she is doing her residency. While out jogging and trying to clear her head, she witnesses a horrendous crime.
Agent Max Daniels assumes that the beautiful witness is a spectator from the soccer game and tries to get her to go back to watching the sport. When he finds out that she is not only a doctor but the sole witness to spot the shooter’s face, Max begins to see the good doctor in a more intriguing and sensual light.
Ellie finds herself immensely attracted to the rugged agent. While she wants to do nothing more than have a no-strings sexual affair with Max, Ellie knows that her heart will be involved and declines his offer of a passionate night together. She needs to keep her head clear anyway, as she is on her way to her home town to confront her past. Ellie does not expect Max to show up with bad news and when he does, she realizes that it may already be too late for her fragile heart. Now if Ellie can just survive the criminals, a stalker, and her bridezilla of a sister, then there might be a chance for her and the sexy F.B.I. agent.
Ms. Garwood has a way of writing that grabs your attention and keeps you anticipating the storyline. I love how both Max and Ellie had first impressions of each other that were not quite right. The danger, adventure, passion, and mystery that surrounds the characters, as well as this plot, give this novel extra pizzazz. The Ideal Man pits two criminals against a man and a woman who have faced dangerous situations before and come out more determined than ever to survive anything. Ms. Garwood is an author who is an automatic buy for me and this novel does not disappoint at all.
