THE DELICIOUS TORMENT

Normal is different for everyone, but for Samantha it means pain equals pleasure. Maybe it was her first real relationship that made her this way, although now she cannot imagine life without it.
The one thing Jack insists on is absolute control; at work, at home, and especially in bed. Whether this means pulling out a cane or denying pleasure, he loves directing every emotion.
Sam is never quite certain where she stands in Jack’s life, often in regards to his friend and assistant Alex. Alex takes great pleasure in doing Jack’s bidding, most of all when it means he gets to wield the instrument of pain. Regardless of her antipathy towards Alex, Sam will accept anything as long as Jack is in charge. What scares her most is that she does not know if she and Alex are in competition for Jack’s affections, or if she will be asked to share them?
The effort and detail that Jack puts into this relationship is extraordinary. So it really seems strange to me that he gives Sam so little of herself. He plays her body and mind with the expertise of a maestro, yet his emotions are seldom explored. It makes him mysterious and incredibly fascinating, which pretty much puts you in the same frame of mind as Sam and Alex.
