Elinor Talbot is a divorced mom, raising her two kids on her own all the while trying to run a pony farm on the weekends as well as substitute teach on occasion. She has her hands full and thinks that after a bad marriage with a man who also doesn’t want to be a father, she is far from ready to fall for a smooth talking cowboy who has other plans in mind.

Sean Killian is a horseshoer who also has a painful past with women; but he is ready to settle down and when he meets spitfire Elinor and her kids he decides they are the family he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

When Lynn and Jake make a “Daddy Spell” to get rid of their old dad and bring in a new one with all the qualities that would make both them and their mom happy, things may not work out they as have planned. Elinor and Jake both have things that need to be settled in order to go forward with a relationship with each other.

What a great read. I love when the whole family gets involved in a romance; and in The Daddy Spell you get that including the animals. Toss in a bit of humor, some stubborn men, strong-willed women, and great chemistry between Elinor and Sean making the romance red hot, and it’ll make you want your own cowboy. Josie Malone has written a great book, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future: especially if they include a hero as yummy as Sean Killian.
