Gavin Miller has settled in the Nebraska Territory. He’s got a house, built a mill and is ready for a wife. He writes a letter back home asking for the hand of a woman he knows. He is ultimately thrilled to see she has accepted; only to find out the wrong woman answered.

Marguerite Chandler is a name shared by two cousins, one using the nickname Daisy, and one going by Marge. Since Daisy is to be married, the women assumed the letter was for Marge. Only this was not the right Marguerite.

With a huge blunder of which bride he chose, a large obstacle lay in front of Gavin, but with prayer and guidance he begins to see it was no blunder. Now he must convince Marge to be his bride before she leaves. But that feat will truly be a hard one.

The Bride Blunder is a wonderfully written story that captures your attention from the beginning. Not only do you get Marge and Gavin’s story but you also get a bonus romance with Amos and Midge as well. Exceptional characters bring forth a heartwarming story of faith, love and survival in a tough time. I enjoyed Ms. Hakes book and am looking forward to sampling her other works.
