Samantha Brandt cannot believe her luck. Losing a game of darts against her sister was bad enough, but being forced to go on a blind date just made it that much worse.
Max Webb wants to date; he just has a hard time asking women out. So he uses Anonymous Dates, Inc., as his dating service and hopes for the best.
Uncomfortable with the thought of a blind date, but resigned after seeing the video with the handsome man, Samantha is floored when her date with Max goes so well. Continuing their date the following day turns out to be a different experience. Especially when Samantha ends up arrested. But when she sees double, she knows she is in trouble and just hopes she can differentiate between who is the real Max and who is the imposter.
The Bet was a riot to read. I love how Samantha reacts to all the complications as well as how down-to-Earth she is in her everyday life. Max is a hoot as well, both as the imposter and the real man. I really enjoyed this story and found myself laughing at the antics of what turned out to be the worst possible second date imaginable.
