Marco Capello remembers Pippa as a spoiled little rich girl who cared for no one but herself. When she comes to stay with him and his mother, he soon discovers she is a beauty that has been judged wrongfully.
Pippa Rowantree has always felt unloved since the death of her mother. After she finds herself fired from her job, and evicted from her apartment, her father decides to send her away.
Pippa is innocent of what she has been accused. Not only had her boss assaulted her, she lost her job and was sent to jail. After being bailed out, she was evicted from her apartment. Now she is on a plane to the Caribbean. She is not looking forward to running into Marco after all these years. Marco never forgot Pippa and now she is on her way to stay with him and his mother. Throughout the years, she never phoned to check on his mother and Marco feels it is unfair for Pippa to even be in their home. Nonetheless, no matter the reason, nothing can stop the mutual attraction the two seem to have as Pippa and Marco’s romance grows.
The story of Pippa and Marco is a lovely one as the reader is able to see both characters grow while learning from mistakes, and maturing into not only two people in love, but friends as well. It was easy visualizing their actions, along with their expressions. The dialog was spot on, and with the wide range of expressions the players show, Ms. Smart has creativity written a magnificent story. She fashions Pippa as someone who carries a troubled heart, and Marco as an understanding, and patient, person trying to help her through the rough patches. This lovely romance is a delight.
