TEMPORARY DOCTOR, SURPRISE FATHER
Mills and Boon (Harlequin)
Rating: 4 Cups
January is a nurse in the ER at Mercy Hospital. When she was a teenager, she was in love and ended up pregnant. She had to give her child up for adoption.
Beck was the bad boy of his high school until he fell in love with January. He decided to get his act together and joined the service. While he was away, January coldly broke up with him. He is now an officer on the LAPD SWAT Team.
Thirteen years ago, January and Beck were in love. Beck had plans to go into the service, though he hated to leave her. January was pregnant and was pressured by her mother into breaking up with him and giving the baby up. They never thought that they would see each other again, especially not in the ER.
This is a very emotional story about a couple who find each other again after many years. Both of them had difficult childhoods and were very much in love. The author does an excellent job of giving the reader a picture of both main characters’ emotional states both then and now. The story is set in a very busy emergency room and the author does an excellent job of describing the setting and the work involved without getting so technical that the average reader cannot understand what is going on. I quickly became engrossed in the story and enjoyed every word.
