The love for a child supersedes everything for most mothers, and Olivia Felan is no different. The threat to her six-year-old daughter is very real and very deadly, but can Olivia honestly justify murdering an innocent man to keep her safe?
Two weeks ago, Detective Chief Inspector Rory Sullivan nearly had his life ripped from his throat, but by being left alive, he is doomed to walking on all fours and howl at the moon at least once a month. He could literally kill the person who made him what he is, and the beast within relishes the chance.
If Sully does not get his act together and soon, he will very likely lose the job he has worked so many years to perfect. He goes to Tuscan seeking help from a friend, but finds himself the target of another attack; only this time it may be his heart that is in the most jeopardy. Olivia stalks her prey, but her inner wolf craves the man she must kill, and she is torn between this proud, honorable, and gorgeous man and the threat that a madman holds over her daughter. Sully does the only thing he is capable of doing, and that is follow his heart, but in the end some secrets are just too much to overcome.
Rippling muscles, the call of the wild, and a British accent to boot will have you panting after Sully every bit as much as Olivia is, but it is his big heart that has you really falling for him. I love how they get each other all worked up with just a look, and the passion sparks like a live wire with every touch. But what I find most appealing is their ability to find humor in the worst of situations, and fighting to do the right thing when it would be so much easier to not. These are characters that you can really wrap your head and your heart around, and recommending this book along with all of the others in this series is a pleasure.
