Financial independence is all that matters for Beth Bradley, and she will do just about anything to achieve it. Working as Simon’s PA is just the first step on her way out from under her ex-husband’s financial assistance.
The world owes him, and Simon Henderson intends to collect. He also has no problem with taking his pleasure whenever and wherever he can find it.
Beth revels in the power she feels when she has Simon chasing her around the office. He may think he has everything under control, but this is her game all the way. When he sends her on a week long training course, Beth is more than anxious to test her skills in and out of the classroom. Simon may not know what hit him when she returns, but Beth also learns a few things about herself, that while they may not be pretty, they come in very handy.
The games Beth plays with the men around her verge on the ridiculous and dangerous. Fortunately for her, the men she toys with are smart enough to realize the game she is playing, and act accordingly. She is very beautiful and most definitely smart enough to get what she wants, but I felt that she buried that with all of her fake tears and protestations. As for testing the waters with another woman, I feel like this is the most honest encounter she has throughout the story.
