Lisa has inherited her pool cleaning business and has a good, if a bit too quiet life with her mother. She is also trying not to notice how gorgeous part-time employee and rock drummer Rick is at work. Now she must deal with the urban legend surrounding a client’s shoes, and her friend’s attempts to steal them.
Rick knows how attracted he is to his boss, Lisa, but how to get her to see him as more than an employee is a problem. When he offers his help with her problems, they have a chance to get to know each other better, a lot better.
Can Lisa find a way to be the “Boss” and find happiness with Rick? Will she try on the legendary shoes for a bit of luck, or wind up a broke and busted pool queen?
Strut is a charming love story with a wonderful plot. The characters are lifelike and empathetic. The Hollywood back drop is done very well. The dialogue was great, and even the background characters were full of life. I loved how Ms DiPlacido handled the urban legend. The sex was subdued but interesting and loving. There was great sexual tension throughout the story. Applying modern catch-phrases into the plot was also a great part of the dialogue. I look forward to reading a longer book from this talented author.
