Kimberly James’s new assignment with a high profile New York corporate relations firm is to convince the owners of a large piece of land in Northern Canada to sell to her client who wants to build a very large and profitable ski resort. This should be an easy assignment, and everyone will make money.
Jonah Baker is part owner of a lodge on the land. He, however, is against the sale and refuses to back down. He is an environmentalist and is prepared to fight to preserve the land with its rainforests and home to the endangered Spirit bear and all its rich history.
Kim fights her way thru this deal, making stride after stride closer to closing the deal. Yet at every turn, Jonah seems to be trying to put a stop to it. With them on opposite sides, can these two work together to make things right, or will this be a case of money wins out?
Spirit Bear is a wonderfully entertaining read. It gives you a bit of the old way of life mixed within the new -- where a corporation’s greed can control many things and a simpler more respectful way of life can be taken so quickly. Add a touch of romance to the pot, and you will have Spirit Bear. I recommend adding this book to you reading list today.
