Coming to Comanche Creek is Texas Ranger Livvy Hutton’s big chance to prove her worth. This is her first solo assignment, and she is not about to screw it up.
He may be a small town sheriff, but Reed Hardin makes sure that he and his staff are well prepared and highly trained for any emergency. All of the preparation in the world, however, does nothing for him when it is his heart at risk and not his safety.
Livvy shows up in Comanche Creek fully intending to find irrefutable evidence to keep a murderer behind bars, but what she does find only creates more mystery and questions. Not only that, but butting heads with the local sheriff is not nearly as irritating as it should be. Reed wants nothing more than to prove once and for all that his deputy did not commit murder, and if it means working hand-in-hand with the sexy Ranger, he will just have to tamp down his raging desire and get the job done. What he does not count on is someone taking pot shots at them, and feeling like his world will come to an end if Livvy is in any way injured.
The sweltering heat of a Texas summer only intensifies the building pressure to find a killer and fight a rampant desire that has no place in a murder investigation. However, the reader is as hopelessly lost as the two main characters, and you cannot help but long for them to forget work, and fall deeply and passionately for each other instead. Livvy and Reed are potently sensual, and both hold positions of power that make for some seriously explosive reading. The confusion over who has the best motive, and who has really done what is still in question, but hang onto your hat, because this series is not over yet.
