Miranda Chase works for her Uncle at his bookshop. When she reads The Seven Secrets of Seduction, she writes to the author, never expecting him to respond.
Maximilian Viscount Downing is intrigued with Miranda when she ignores his book request in favor of the latest Gothic book. Determined to unwrap her layer by layer, he convinces her Uncle that he needs her help with his massive library.
As Miranda begins to clear and organize the Viscount’s library, he begins his plans for seduction. The days go by as every word, every touch, every whisper brings her one step closer to breaking down her defenses. When she finally accedes it is more remarkable than anything she has ever experienced before. But secrets begin to be revealed and Miranda will have a choice to make, one that may lead her to heartbreak.
Seven Secrets of Seduction starts out really funny and I found myself ready to sit down and read an excellent book. Ms. Mallory knows how to grab the reader from the beginning with her witty words and funny scenarios. However, I found the book then took a slightly downhill turn and I was not as enthralled with it as I was at the beginning. The seductive tone the Viscount set was great, and I just had to read more to find out if all secrets would be revealed. While this is not the best book I have ever read, I did enjoy parts of it which makes it a good read.
