Charlotte, Duchess of Rutherford, loved her husband until the day he crushed her heart. For the past three years, she has exacted revenge by acting in a way no real duchess would ever dare to act.

Philip Burgess, Duke of Rutherford married Charlotte for one reason and one reason only; revenge. After a night of blissful passion, Philip explained to Charlotte why he married her and that they would never have a love match.

Now Philip has realized his mistake; he has loved Charlotte for all this time and refuses to allow her to slip through his fingers. But she is just as determined to make him want to give her up. So acting as a wild harlot to get him to divorce her seems like the best way to go about gaining her freedom from the hellish marriage. Unfortunately, Philip has suddenly decided that he will change and will stop at nothing to get back the wife he has come to love.

While Seducing the Duchess is witty and clever at times, I could not get past a few of the heated moments within the tale. I looked at some of the anger as a type of passionate foreplay. However, other times I could almost feel the hatred and suffering rolling off Charlotte. It was hard for me to get past the whole cheating thing, even though it may have been acceptable for a man to take a mistress at that time in history. I did not relate easily to Charlotte, finding her to be quite manipulative and at times completely fake, but I could feel how much she wanted to believe in Philip and the love he proclaimed for her. Ms. March added enough humor and plot twists to keep me interested in seeing where the book would go.
