SHIRLEY RAYE REDMOND
Rating: 4 Cups
Rosemary Addison has been dubbed "The Beauty" by the town. Since her coming out, she has had one offer of marriage after another. Some have been by scoundrels, some by fortune hunters, and some by perfect gentlemen, but none of them have been by the one man she has been hoping for.
Broderick Loren has been Rosemary's best friend for many years. As a young girl, she would follow him around as he studied different plants and help his uncle out while he collected bugs for his collection.
Rosemary is determined to marry Thomas Alden, Lord Beverley who just happens to be the most handsome and eligible bachelor of the town, even with his dubious background. Except the rake has been putting off asking her to be his wife and time is running out! So Rosemary concocts a plan that involves Broderick and a sham of an engagement, with the hopes of it tweaking Lord Beverley's pride and bringing him around with his affections. Neither Rosemary nor Broderick were expecting everything to get so out of hand, and neither was expecting their feelings of friendship to change to love and just when Lord Beverley finally makes his intentions known.
Ms. Redmond has composed a sweet and romantic novel. Rosemary’s Glove is the type of tale that can be read by any romance lover whether they are young or old. When I first met Rosemary, I have to say I found her to be a little egotistical and quite spoiled with pride being her coup de grace. Meanwhile Broderick is this sweet and abiding friend who helps her with her scheming, even when his feelings for her are very strong. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this beautiful love story.
