Attorney Izzy McNeil has her hands full with wedding preparations, and her job. Everything is going great until a client, and good friend dies, then Sam vanishes without a single word.
Sam Hollings not only has concerns about wedding plans, but is worried about the Picket Enterprises. Forester Picket is like the father he never had, but when the man dies, precarious things point to Sam.
While Izzy busily tries to prepare for her wedding, a bomb practically lands in her lap. She learns her client, CEO Forester Pickett, is dead of a heart attack. The man was in perfect health. She finds it hard to understand why he would suddenly die. Then Sam unexpectedly disappears along with a large amount of money. Sam was the last person to sign into the safe and with the Foresters beam shares missing, he is the likely suspect. Izzy has no idea where he is, and wonders could he possibly have had anything to do with Forester’s demise. When the FBI is pulled into the case, Izzy is more worried about Sam, and only hopes she can find him to clear up the matter.
Red Hot Lies is a delightful story with action, suspense, strong characters, and a great plot. Izzy provides realism in her search for Sam, not to mention once she finds him, choking the living daylights out of him. Laura Caldwell provides great entertainment in this read, as well as good sketches of the characters, allowing the reader to almost see each character in action. I like when Sam calls, Izzy, Red Hot. It is such an adorable story when the author allows the audience to visualize the surroundings as well as the activity of the players, and Ms. Caldwell does an excellent job in making this a grand read.
