As a Spartan warrior, Aristos Petrakos was given immortal life with the stipulation of fighting evil for Ares, god of war. Years flew by as he battled his enemies until he finally knew love, only to lose it when he revealed who he truly was.
Juliana Tiades comes from a long line of special women with certain talents. When she meets Aristos she feels that she has met the love of her life, but before they can consummate their love, she dies in a strange and questioning way.
Even though more than a hundred years has passed since he lost Juliana, Aristos feels as if it was only yesterday. When he gets a message from her that all is not as it seems to be with her death, he is not sure what to think. Then she comes to him as flesh and blood and their love continues to bloom. But danger, death, and destruction are on the horizon led by none other than he who made Aristos immortal in the first place.
I have not read any of the other books within this series, and while you can understand most of the plotline, there were parts that took a bit for me to understand. After reading this novel, it does have me wanting to go back and read the first two books in the series along with the novella so I can understand these intriguing characters. While Red Demon is mainly about Aristos and Juliana, there are so many other storylines going on that I know the adventures of these brave Spartans and the women they love will continue for some time. Ms. Knight is a force to be reckoned with as she pens a novel of immense proportion that pits good versus evil, gods and immortals, gods versus gods, and love and hate. The battle lines have been drawn and love is the ultimate prize that is to be won.
