Donovan Fontana is used to getting any woman he wants. But due to his involvement with a certain deceased woman, he is now in the radar of the police.
Challie Baderleen is trying her hardest to keep out of everyone’s way. As a maid, that is usually not too hard, but for some reason Donovan keeps running into her and leaving her quite breathless.
When Donovan’s boss explains to him that he needs to leave with Challie to their vacation cabin, he jumps at the chance. He is hoping he can seduce Challie and relieve the infatuation he seems to have with her. She knows that he is a man of substance and quality, and as she is the hired help, there is nothing that she can give him. But she still cannot stay away from his arms. When a sinister plot is revealed, Donovan will have to use all of his wits to save the woman he has come to care for before it is too late.
Purely Sexual is a unique tale full of intriguing characters and stimulating circumstances. I must say I am a bit put off by Challie’s character, not liking how she seems to use her fears and dislikes to manipulate the situation. Many times, I felt this story is based on nothing more than sex, with how much Ms. Dupree put it in this novel. However, while not a superbly written novel, the character plots, villainous acts, and subterfuge within the pages helped me enjoy this book more.
