Making friends, working hard, and taking responsibility for her life feels really good to Reagan Somerville. For so long she lost herself, first to her parents, then to her ex-husband, but now she is in control of her own destiny.
The dark bitter feelings are slowly eating away at Gabe Pejovic, and nothing he does seems to bring him any peace. He cannot even enjoy the club any longer, and that worries him more than anything.
The need to be her own woman and conquer her fears is something Reagan works on every day of her life, and she does not see herself giving that up for anyone ever again. Gabe feels his control over everything slipping further and further away, but with Reagan he gets a spark of something that worries him as much as it intoxicates him. Reagan and Gabe push each other’s buttons on all fronts, and yet they both crave what the other can give them. Gabe tries to shut down and close his heart off, but Reagan made that promise to herself to never avoid the hard things in life, and Gabe is about as hard as it gets.
So seldom do you see a BDSM story with this much honesty and raw emotion, but you will definitely see it here. Reagan is one of the best female characters I have ever come across in this genre, and I love how she puts it all on the line for Gabe. The way this author plays off of Gabe’s past, and makes it such an integral part of his personality, is just fantastic. There is so much depth of feeling with both of these characters that I could easily envision their pain as well as their passion.
