Ava Spencer was the fat kid. She was okay with this, because although her mother did everything to make her feel insecure, she had two best friends and an awesome mentor who loved her despite her size. When Cade Gallari kisses her, makes love to her, lets her know he thinks she is beautiful… well, who wouldn’t feel lovely? Then to find out she was the brunt of a teenage bet and a laughingstock at the school… She vows a lifetime of hatred for Buttface Gallari.
Cade Gallari has tried over the years to apologize to Ava for the stupid mistake he made as a kid. Now, faced with her again as he films a documentary in the mansion that her mentor left her, he wishes she would listen to reason. He can’t help but be attracted to her generous curves and a body that always knocked his socks off, even before she lost weight.
Sparks fly and the old attraction is kindled back to life. Both Ava and Cade decide to use this passionate connection to show the others what they are missing. With a sinister plot afoot by a dark force, will they be blinded to it by their raging hormones? Or will there be a winner in the game of love, because they are both Playing Dirty?
Sexy, fun and with banter that makes the characters seem more like old friends than a creation of words, Anderson delivers the whole package in this story. The feelings between Ava and Cade ignite and sexual tension is well-delivered while not losing the tenderness that makes a reader feel that their relationship is a real one. Add in secondary characters, like the awesome Beks, and this story was well-rounded and delicious. Bravo, Anderson. Bravo.
