OUT OF TIME
Time Travel and Paranormal
Rating: 3 Cups
Elizabeth is a graduate student assistant to rude professor, Simon Cross. She has had a crush on him but keeps her feelings hidden. When inadvertently sent to 1920s New York City with him, she does what she must to survive, but evil soon comes to the couple.
Simon is looking for information on his family’s past, and somehow takes Elizabeth with him on a trip to the past. He gets to meet his grandfather and when a vampire threatens them, Simon knows he must fight back.
Elizabeth and Simon have learned more than they ever thought possible and met the past head on with fascination. Together they work hard to get back to their time, but must stop mobsters and an evil vampire before all is over.
Out of Time is a very enthralling book but is also a busy one. The relationship between Simon and Elizabeth is hot and entertaining. Simon is not always wonderful, but Elizabeth balances him out and his determination to please her is commendable as is his willingness to learn. The dialogue is great and feelings are shown wonderfully. The introduction of the supporting characters is a great addition to the story. The villain is excellently done, and was, at times, more empathetic than Simon. While entertaining, the sex scenes seemed gratuitous and while I love erotica, the story may have done better without them, however the sexual tension between the couple is outstanding. I did feel the ending was cheesy, that Elizabeth and Simon handled time travel a bit too well, but still, I enjoyed the book.
