Tabetha Chartrand just wants to relax and have a good time at the bar with her friend, Kathy. After getting unceremoniously dumped by her fiancée two weeks before her wedding, Tabetha is not looking for another man to complicate her life.
Darren Cartier is happy playing the field. He does not want to be tied down or committed to any one woman in particular. Then he sees Tabetha from across the bar. Immediately spellbound by her, he craves to have her all to himself. But Tabetha is not making any commitments, accepting to be his only for one night.
Initially, they both agree on this arrangement. But as the hours go by, Darren finds himself swearing off all his other girlfriends just to be with Tabetha. She, too, is inexplicably drawn to him, though nervous about commitment. Will there be more than just one night for these two lovers, or will they stick to their agreement and go their separate ways in the morning?
This book has a very interesting premise and timeline–the whole story takes place over the course of a couple days. The main secondary characters are also well rounded. However, the unnecessary amount of dialogue tends to be unrealistic and drags on. Furthermore, in the first half of the book, Darren’s utterances and actions seem to be disturbingly possessive. In fact, almost all of the characters are excessively jealous. It is also difficult to imagine the various settings and locations this story takes place in.
