Rating: 4 Cups
When Paladin Liza is sent to collect the Alpha’s heir, she expects that the five years they have been apart would have dulled his anger at her. Half witch and half werewolf, but without the ability to change her form, she is used to having to fight for what she wants. When she tried to fight for him years ago, he pushed her away. She does not expect the fire that led to their one night of explorative sex years ago to have erupted into an inferno that will engulf them both.
Caleb has been stalling going home. In the meantime, he has fallen in love and has a successful relationship with Zach, a good friend and fellow werewolf. The one thing missing is the witch he left behind. When she comes to collect him, he knows he must make her his own. And when Zach takes a look at her and realizes she is also his mate, the two must claim her and drive her to submission.
The mate of two alpha werewolves, Liza moves past her history with Caleb and into a steamy future. She begins to get to know Zach and the two men learn that to claim this particular woman they must not only make her burn, they must also earn her respect.
Eroticism that literally sets the pages on fire means that while reading this story, you may find yourself biting your lip and looking into the darkness for the glitter of yellow eyes. However, while it did not lack in heat and need, it could have used some evolution regarding the werewolf politics. I was left wondering why they rushed back home, as the situation did not seem as dire as was initially suggested. Since I was busy fanning myself and watching the evolving relationships, it was not a huge disappointment but some development would have made this a 5 cup review.
