He finds Nicole to be fascinating as her air of innocence mixes with her air of confidence. As one day turns into another, Nicole and Michael begin to explore their friendship which becomes so much more. When she discovers his secret, will Nicole run in fear or accept Michael for whom and what he is?
Nocturne is a bittersweet tale that holds you in its grip from the get go. Ms. James uses not only the paranormal genre but the cadence of the written words to give this book the feeling of a gothic tale like Jane Eyre. To see Nicole come out of her shell and face her fears was wonderful. At the same time, watching Michael start to believe in the power of love was like watching a child hold a butterfly for the first time. The scenery is breathtaking, the storyline is heartbreaking, and the characters will stay with you for a long time.
