A Novel of the Breeds, Book 23

The feelings that Mica Toler has had for a certain Wolf Breed have not abated since she was sixteen years old, if anything they have only grown exponentially with time. It is a crushing weight on her heart to know that he will never feel the same, but that does not stop the longing.
He could tell all those years ago that Mica would change his world, but Navarro Blaine has garnered every ounce of his control to keep his distance. He will protect her, and he will keep her safe, but he can never be the man she needs or deserves.
With life-threatening danger hot on her heels, Mica is forced to be in very close proximity to the only man who has ever made her heart shudder, and it is killing her more every day. Every sign says they are not and never will be mated, but Mica cannot deny the ingrained response her body has to his every movement. Navarro is on an edge he has never even come close to, and Mica is the catalyst to something he never believed he would experience. He has promised her for years that he will never let her come to harm, but what if the greatest threat to her is himself?
Every imaginable feeling can be found in Lora Leigh’s novels, and when they are amassed into one incredibly hot read it is almost overwhelming. There is so much sexual tension between Mica and Navarro it virtually explodes from the pages. I found that the strain of trying to deny what they were feeling, and then the ensuing erotic scenes are so intense it nearly overpowers everything else. The danger that lurks in the background is like an oily shadow, but Mica and Navarro’s passion is hot enough to burn right through it.
