Georgie Connolly has loved taking care of her family. But when her husband gets a promotion and is relocated to London, she begins to think about starting up her acting career again.
Peter Connolly loves his life, loves his children, and cannot help but love his beautiful and talented wife. When she lands the role of an infamous actress, he supports her any way that he can.
Piers Brighstone is the brilliant playwright who tells the story of Mrs. Jordan. When he hears Georgie perform for the role, he knows she is perfect.
From the beginning Georgie knows this role is special. As she continues to research and perform, she finds herself getting a little too close to Piers. When Peter finds out about his wife’s affair, their lives begin to unravel. One damaging event leads to another until an unforeseen consequence changes their lives forever.
Reading My Wife’s Affair is like driving by a car accident and doing a rubber neck to check it out. Though you cringe at some of the heartbreaking scenarios you cannot seem to stop reading. The rage and anger I felt coming off the pages from Peter were so realistic and understandable I wanted to reach through the words and console him. All the mixed emotions Georgie feels about working or staying home with her children is something we all go through and any parent can definitely relate to. Ms. Woodruff gives this tragic tale a voice that will grab a hold of you and not let go.
