In Wilmington, North Carolina, Ashley Wilkes is working on restoring the Boleyn hunting lodge with her partner, Jon Campbell. Her husband has left her, and murders are happening around her sister. Discovering a body buried amongst the moonshine bottles is the least of her worries at this point.
Melanie Wilkes is Ashley’s older sister. She is a real estate agent in Wilmington, North Carolina. The men in her life are no good for her, but she keeps attracting them. Now, someone is targeting her. Someone wants her charged with murder.
Ashley’s life is in chaos. Jon and she have found a body buried in the shed of the house they are restoring. Her husband of two years leaves her for another woman. Now, her sister is being targeted for murder. Not to mention, there is an ATF agent looking around and asking a lot of questions. Questions that Ashley feels are not about the body buried in the shed.
Excitement, romance and drama are alive and well in this book. There are so many wonderful people to whom the reader is introduced. Ashley and Melanie are Southern women in every way. They are both strong-minded and strong-willed ladies with a steel backbone. I love the way these two defend one another to the people who are against them. Murder on the ICW is a definite page turner as the reader is taken down many false trails in search of the murderer. Ms. Hunter does a superb job of keeping everything a mystery until the end. I encourage you to add this one to your collection. I do not think you will be disappointed.
