Julie is not your ordinary werewolf. Although she has the same curse as her mother, she is unable to shift. Julie lives with her father and her brother, Mark, at their family ranch because her mother died while giving birth to Julie. Julie is in love with two men: one a vampire named Victor and the second a werewolf named Brad. After Julie’s father dies, everything changes for Julie and Mark. Julie is to become the Matron of the whole community.
Brad is an Independent. He does not belong to a pack, and he just so happens to be in love with Julie. Brad is new to the community and is not very trusted by the other clans. Brad also finds it extremely strange that he never sees Julie shift. When he describes the bloodlust to Julie, she acts like she does not know what he is talking about. Also Brad is very confused about the relationship that Julie has with Victor, and he knows that she is hiding things from him.
After Julie’s father dies, she goes to live at Brad’s ranch. When she has her first attack, Victor comes over to help her through it. Victor is also very much in love with Julie so he comes and lives out at the ranch with them in case she has another attack. When Julie finds out she is pregnant everything changes, because if she has a boy she will live and if she has a girl after she will die because of the same curse as her mother. Brad’s friend is a very gifted scientist and is trying to come up with a cure that will save Julie. Also, we have the crazy Belinda who wants to take revenge on Julie. Will Win find a cure in time? Will Belinda catch up with the group? Will Brad want to stay with Julie when he finds out the truth about her condition and about her and Victor?
This book is a non-stop roller coaster ride of action and adventure; Along with non-stop thrills and curve balls thrown throughout. I was immersed rapidly in Julie’s world. I became amused with Julie’s temper tantrums, and then engrossed in the great story line. The writing is excellent and takes the reader from amused to horrified in one sentence. This great book takes us to a whole different level of paranormal, with vampires, werewolves and demons all in one. The author did a wonderful job of putting all three creatures in one world. I highly recommend this book.
