Adam Winters, head of the Frequency City Ghost Hunter Guild, believes that he is headed for a collision course with rogue status via the nightmares and hallucinations that dog his sleep. Only through the help of the one person he thought he would never need, a Jones.
Marlowe Jones, newest head of Jones and Jones investigators and a Dreamlight reader, needs Adam to find the recently stolen Burning Lamp. Along with her dust bunny Gibson she must ask for help from the Guild to find the missing artifact. Little does she know that she has come face to face with the one man who will challenge her and make her stronger.
Little does Marlowe know but Adam needs Marlowe to save his sanity and from the moment he sees her he knows that she is the one for him. Marlowe has been alone for so long because of her talent that she is shocked when she finds that Adam is different, but is it enough to take a chance.
Midnight Crystal is an expertly written novel set in Harmony. The unbelievable imagination required to create such a fully developed world is awe-inspiring. I found Gibson to be such a wonderful character who took this duo to a trio on a whole other level. I was enthralled with Midnight Crystal from the first page through the last. Every page in between was filled with thrills, chills, and suspense with a dash of love to make it all so much sweeter. I would recommend that you run, not walk, to the nearest book store and pick the newest book in the Arcane Society Series from Jayne Ann Krentz, Midnight Crystal.
