Keith Pritchard Flynn is a four-year-old little boy without parents. His father, Mitchell, was killed in Iraq and his mother, Marlene, died of pneumonia. His mother’s friend takes to him to Adelaide, Oklahoma, and leaves Keith on the doorstep of his grandmother’s home with only a packet of papers to prove who he is.
The evening Keith appears on Susan Flynn’s doorstep, all kinds of things begin to happen. Susan Flynn is dying and she knows it. With both of her children dead, Susan believed she would have no blood heirs when she passed away so in her will she left everything to the only family she had. A little investigation proves Keith to be the son of Susan’s son, and Susan wants to change her will so Keith will be the sole heir. People are upset by this child’s arrival and are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure Susan’s will is not changed. Bailey Ruth’s mission is to keep Keith safe.
It is hard to not love Bailey Ruth and her enthusiasm for life. Her upbeat spirit makes the reader almost forget she is a ghost. Bailey’s penchant for breaking the rules just makes a person adore her that much more. There is no better way to get in the mood for the holiday season that a little Christmastime mystery. Ms. Hart is such a talented author, and she never fails to get the reader involved in the mischief that seems to follow Bailey Ruth Raeburn. Merry, Merry Ghost is a must read.
