Hope Dunne is a well known photographer and loves her work. She has become strong after her daughter’s death and her husband’s sickness and divorce. Comfortable the way her life is, she is not looking for a man but after taking a last minute assignment to photograph a well known author, she becomes smitten with just one meeting.
Finn O’Neill is an author known for his strange almost disturbing books. He oozes charm and sex appeal. When he meets Hope, he decides to sweep her off her feet and he takes her to an isolated estate in Ireland. He wants her to himself and wants no one to interrupt their time together.
As their whirlwind romance encounters a few speed bumps, things start to slowly change. The jealousy begins and anger shows its ugly head as much as the love is heated to scorching passionate levels. Lies surface and Hope wonders if she really knows the man she loves. Can this man be so dark and unfeeling or is she just being a bit paranoid? She will soon find out the answer.
Matters of the Heart is a thrilling, but a bit frightening, tale of loving a sociopath. Danielle Steel has added another great book to her ever-growing list of work. She once again entertains the reader with rich, colorful characters and gripping storylines. One must wish that she never runs out of inspiration for her stories. This book is one to run out and grab today.
