As one of the leading analysts at Maxwell Moore and Company, LLC, and the only female one to boot, Miranda Johansson always performs at the top of her game. Until the day she finds out that she has lost eighty-seven million dollars worth of her clients’ money.
While in line to grab a cup of coffee, Maxwell Moore notices a petite woman making snide remarks to the coffee clerk about his looks. Seeing her face ravaged by make-up, he tries to help her by letting her use his private bathroom.
Trying to recover from her bout of self-pity and clerk abuse, Miranda apologizes and then somehow ends up having wild and hot sex on the suite’s floor with the sexy stranger. Not knowing much about the sexy stranger other than his first name is Max, she continues on her way up to her office while trying to figure out how to fix her huge problem. Things for Miranda continue to go downhill when she realizes that her sexy stranger is none other than the boss himself. When Miranda’s archenemy targets both her as well as Maxwell, it may not just be the end of their steamy relationship; it could cost them their jobs as well.
Ms. Layne has written an interesting story involving lust, steamy sex, and the stock market. Market for Love takes a very strait-laced and conservative woman and pits her against a suave and sensual business man. I felt for Miranda when she lost all that money, I think I would have been panicking too! The only downfall of this story were the parts of the story where Max acted like a stalker, which put me off. But this book has loads of heat, revenge, and one heck of a crazy woman willing to go the distance to ruin anyone in her path.
