Matilda “Mattie” MacCormack has no memories of who she is or how she ended up face down on the shores of a lake. The man who rescued her is so very handsome yet mysterious and seems to know more than he is telling.
Danny Connor, aka Tj O’Malley, left behind his life and the woman he loved years ago to keep her safe. How is it that she landed on the shores of the lake in his backyard, and who will be looking for her to ensure they were successful at eliminating her?
Mattie has no idea who she is or why she likes the name Mattie so much. With each piece of evidence that surfaces, she becomes more concerned about her life before.
Mattie and Dannie are two well formed characters that draw the reader into their world. The pain of separation for Danny is so very tangible and the reader can feel the pangs of the heart. Elaine Charton successfully writes a murder mystery chalked full of dead bodies, secret agents and lots of hot love. I enjoyed reading Mac’s Man, and if you like a little romance with your mystery then you will too.
