Shifters’ Haven Book 1
Rating: 5 Cups
Luke Morgan is a werewolf. He has just returned home after getting his accounting degree and is happy to be back on his family’s ranch.
Mark Malone has just been hired by a neighboring ranch as a foreman. While he does not care for the way his boss treats others who are different, he figures he can handle it for the time being, that is until he smells Luke.
When Luke goes on an errand with his brother and alpha, Kelan, he has no idea that he is about to meet his mate. However, when the most luscious smell he has ever smelled invades his nose, he knows his mate is near, and begins looking for the woman. Imagine his surprise when his mate is not a woman at all, but a man! Mark is in the same boat, he has always considered himself to be straight, so the fact that his mate is male really throws him for a loop. The two almost decide to go their separate ways, but then both find that they simply cannot do it and decide to try out a relationship between them. After all, wolves only get one mate and neither wants to live a lie without their soul mate. Things seem to be going well, the sex is phenomenal, they like each other, and love is quickly growing between them, but then Ethan Walker makes it clear he thinks Luke should be his. Ethan has always flirted with Luke, but Luke never encouraged him. Now, however, the very gay male wolf has no intention of letting Luke have his happy ending. Will the two mates be able to overcome this very dangerous obstacle and have their happy ending? Or will Ethan destroy them?
All I can say is Wow! Ms. Lewis really knows how to write a story. I absolutely LOVED Luke’s Surprise. This is my first book by Ms. Lewis, but it will certainly not be my last. I cannot wait for the sequel to come out so I can devour that one as quickly as I did this book. Hopefully, there will be many more books in the Shifter’s Sanctuary series. The author did an excellent job of showing how the whole mate thing works, and how it was possible that two very straight men could suddenly find themselves with a male mate. Not all authors are able to do this successfully, and I have read other books where one or both of the mates was not gay and the authors were not able to pull it off successfully. The sex is uber hot and totally singe worthy! The love scenes alone are worth buying this book for, the fact that Ms. Lewis is such a stellar story teller is just icing on the cake in my opinion. I also really enjoyed the added questions regarding Cody and Kelan that the author had in this book as she gave just enough information that I’m hoping for sequels for both these brothers. If you enjoy reading M/M werewolf romance, you do not want to miss this one folks, it is fantastic!
