Willa Sloan is thirty-eight and is very interested in farming heirloom grains. She has been forced to close her business and is working for a temp firm. She is very attractive and unmarried.

Daniel Arbeitman is a twenty-nine year old author of science fiction novels. He is attractive in a professorish sort of way, a vegetarian, and very successful.

Willa’s latest job as a temp is to dress up as a character from a popular science fiction series, including tight leather and high heels. She meets the author of the series, who is nerdy, but attractive and younger. He seems interested in her, but she does not know whether it is her or her costume Daniel is interested in. They get to know one another better when she takes a temp job on the local college campus and their attraction grows. A job opportunity in another state and their age difference are barriers but hopefully, the two can get past them.

This is a very well-written and engrossing story. The characters are so real that I expected them to walk right off the pages of the book. I enjoyed reading about their growing relationship, and the trials and tribulations of a romance between a thirty something woman and a younger man, but liked that the author did not harp on the age difference but concentrated on the people involved. The other characters are equally likable and realistic and the plot flows smoothly to a satisfying conclusion.
