Evelyn’s husband is an alcoholic, he has not treated her well in a very long time and abuses her both verbally and physically. She has stayed for the sake of her kids, but this time he has gone too far and she leaves with the kids and heads to a women's shelter.
Max is the abusive husband and does not realize what he has lost until he starts to straighten up. He soon learns that he really messed up and loves his wife and kids. Holding down a job and affirming his faith in God, he begins to change in hopes of being a better man.
Evelyn has the help of her lawyer Nathan, who is finding himself wishing of a future with Evelyn, but that would be unethical and immoral. With a divorce and custody hanging in the balance, both Evelyn and Max have many issues to overcome. Is divorce the final answer or can God have a different plan for this couple?
What a amazing tale of heartache, faith and forgiveness, not to mention personal growth. Love's Strong Shelter shows the reader that what we might perceive as a quick answer, just might not be the one mapped out for us. A bonus addition to this story is the autho'rs words about God, divorce and his experiences, as well as, beliefs that helped shape this book. I look forward to his next book.
