Every year for the last eight Mike Brown takes this one day to drown himself in liquor and regrets; allowing in the memories of the mission that ended his career. His annual drink fest gets cut short, however, when the hottest little chica in tight pants and stilettos sets her sights on him.
Getting the mark exactly where she wants him is ridiculously easy for Eva Salinas. It is everything after that completely screws with her head. He is not nearly as idiotic and gullible as he first appears; meaning she is in way too far over her head.
Beating himself up for his stupidity is getting Mike nowhere, but apparently letting Eve see his heart rip wide open is. She wants answers about the operation that killed most of his team, including her husband Ramon, and she will not stop until she gets them. With an assassin on their tail, Mike and Eva must work together to uncover the truth about what happened eight years ago, and is still going on today. Their hunt leads them right into the heart of a compound filled with anti-government radicals, and all Mike can think of is how losing Eva will be far worse than anything he has ever known.
The fight and fury surrounding Mike and Eva matches the sexual awareness rolling off of them wave for wave. I love that Eva is every bit the aggressor, muscle, and brain that Mike is; even more so at times. She lets it fly, never backing down, and making Mike realize he needs to take a stand and fight just as hard as she does. They laugh, they love, and they light up this story like a firecracker!
