Carrie is very intelligent and a natural beauty. She has a half sister named Ashley. They share a father that neither knows well. She suffered a disappointment in college in both love and her career plans.

Nate runs a successful ecotourism camp funded by a grant that he got in college for discovering a rare species of bird. Too bad it was his girlfriend who did all the work.

Carrie and her sister travel to Costa Rica to visit an ecotourism camp. Ashley looks forward to spending time with her sister and getting to know about what she studied in college. Carrie does not tell her that the man who runs the camp betrayed her in more than one way three years before.

I enjoyed this story and learning about what went wrong with Carrie and Nate so many years before. The plot is interesting aside from the inconsistency of how well the sisters know each other. At one point they knew each other since they were children and at another, they had just met. Some of the descriptions are a bit awkward also, but the story makes up for this. There are some pretty great descriptions of Costa Rica and the author has created memorable and realistic characters. I really liked both Carrie and Ashley.
