Maris Dusan is a property appraiser currently working on a property in the Adirondack Mountains. Five years ago, she was in an accident and currently suffers from dissociative disorder, a memory loss problem. She is content with her life until two men who have haunted her dreams come to life.
Nathan Randulf and Blake Lee are co-owners in the Chateau Munteanu, a castle-type estate in the Adirondack Mountains. Nathan was a college professor when he met Maris, and Blake was a struggling artist.
When Maris’ mother died a year ago, Maris began having dreams of two different men seducing her. Her mother had forced Nathan and Blake to stay away from Maris. The guys use Maris’ job as an excuse to get her onto the property, into their lives, and possibly into their arms. What these poor men are about to discover is that Maris is not the same woman she was before her accident. The independent streak may find her walking away from both of them before they can bring back her missing memories. Or will someone make sure Maris never remembers?
The story is a perfect example of how the heart remembers even when the mind does not. It is touching in many ways. With more than a hint of mystery, I was riveted to the pages as I read on. Ms. Neil manages to write a tale that keeps my attention. Maris is such an incredibly tough woman, but to see her rough edges softened a bit, certainly made her more personable. From the start, the reader wonders which man Maris will choose. It is a hard choice since the author has written Nathan and Blake as polar opposites from one another. This is definitely a book to add to your bookshelf.
