IN THE COMPANY OF VAMPIRES
A Dark Ones Novel, Book 2
Rating: 4 Cups
She left Europe five years ago to find who she was without the pressure of what everyone expected of her, but to this day, Francesca Ghetti does not know who or what she is meant to be. Is she nothing more than a Dark One’s Beloved, and does her own will mean nothing? Either way, Fran knows one thing, she has not been happy.
He watched her leave and felt the pain of losing his other half, but Benedikt Czerny could do no less for Fran. She was too young at the time, and he has too much respect for her to ever force his existence upon her, whether it means his eternal damnation or not.
She will see Ben again, that is unavoidable, but Fran cannot help but feel her inner self rejoice. She has missed him terribly, and though the thought of committing to him still scares her, she knows that the last five years have been awful without him. This trip, however, has more to do with banishing Loki and locating her mother than it does with reclaiming Ben, but she may need every bit of help he can give her to accomplish either task. Ben can see the changes in Fran, both inside and out, and he can only hope that she can forgive him his current situation long enough to give them both a chance at happiness.
Fran and her madcap band of Valhalla Vikings are wickedly wacky and will have you in stitches of laughter at their eccentric activities. As amazing as it may seem, Ben the vampire, is in my opinion, the most “normal” character in Fran’s life. And though it is easy to see where her overly sensitive feelings of independence would make her appear immature, in this story she strives to overcome that. She and Ben are crazy in love and lust, but add in all of the other zany characters, and you have one wildly fun and sexy read.
