Nora was Charlotte’s best friend growing up. At eleven years old, Nora knew even then that Charlotte liked certain strange and interesting items and artifacts.
Charlotte loves to explore the unexplainable, and she is continuously finding treasures that others have thrown away or forgotten about. When Charlotte and Nora’s babysitter, Rose, came up missing, Charlotte immediately tried to solve the mystery with her mystical items but to no avail.
More than ten years have passed since Rose’s disappearance, and both Charlotte and Nora have grown up and grown apart. When the babysitter’s remains show up, Charlotte wants them to figure out what happened that fateful day all those years ago. But to do so, Nora will have to remember things best left in the past. What will happen when certain secrets come to life that will rock the very foundation that Charlotte and Nora stand on?
Nora and Charlotte’s early friendship gripped me from the beginning and gave me a sense of nostalgia. However, as In search of the Rose Notes continued, I found that the intricate storyline had some scenes that were not necessary. Ms. Arsenault knows how to set the mood for a great mystery and that part of the novel kept me on my toes and had me guessing where all the questions were leading Nora and Charlotte. I found the way Nora and Charlotte cautiously circled one another until they found a common ground as adults really helped to keep this book real. An intriguing and mysterious novel, this will keep you entertained for sure.
